City Oilers - Fer.Maputo 87-92

The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But City Oilers won third quarter 24-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fer.Maputo made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 City Oilers turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by City Oilers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Spanish Alvaro Calvo (202-83, agency: Interperformances) fired a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. Center Helton Ubisse (201-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Four Fer.Maputo players scored in double figures. American-Ugandan Jordin Mayes (190-91, college: Arizona) produced 27 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Robinson Opong (190-89, college: Rogers St.) added 18 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) respectively for lost side.

JKT - GNBC 63-87

The game was mostly controlled by GNBC. JKT was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded JKT 59-45 including 19 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Constant Mandimbison (190-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Elly Randriamampionona (198-96) contributed with 20 points for the winners. GNBC's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Baraka Athumani (-94) replied with 30 points and 6 rebounds and Ugandan center Haji Mbegu (-98) added 10 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for JKT.

The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-53. Patriots held Unza P. to an opponent 20.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 30.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Patriots forced 20 Unza P. turnovers. American-Rwandan guard Kenny Gasana (195-84, college: Boise St.) scored 24 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian-Rwandan guard Jean-Victor Mukama (203-94, college: Ryerson) chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Tyvon Cooper (185, college: Brandon) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Harisson Banda (-97) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
